Finally, more places to park your bike in Margate and Ventnor. Our Downbeach towns have been awarded a grant to install up to 50 bike racks
Look for beach blocks in Margate to get some much needed bike racks, as well as Ventnor City Hall, sports fields and business districts.
The racks could be installed within four to six months.
The Cities of Ventnor and Margate collaborated on this joint plan to improve bicycling and walking conditions in their communities. The goal is to link neighborhoods with schools, parks, businesses, and other destinations.
The project is funded by NJDOT. This is the first time two contiguous towns have been studied simultaneously.
Currently, Margate has a bike path on Atlantic Ave, while Ventnor considers the boardwalk as the city’s bike path.
Our 2 cents: encourage local businesses to install even MORE bike racks as it will most certainly attract more customers…..like me…..who prefer to ride a bike as opposed to driving a car. WAWA ….can you hear me?
